Solar, Battery and Backup Power Services in Cape Town
Six services, one team. We install solar panels, battery storage, UPS backup, generators, small wind turbines and solar geysers across the Western Cape, and we support every system after switch-on.

Solar Panel Installation
A solar PV system turns your roof into your cheapest source of electricity. We start with your last 12 months of bills, work out when you actually use power, and size the panels and inverter to match. Nothing oversized to pad the quote. Every system uses Tier-1 monocrystalline panels and a hybrid inverter from SMA, Victron or GoodWe, and it's installed by a team with a Wireman's Licence. In Cape Town, grid-tied systems have to be registered with the City as Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG). We do that paperwork for you, and once you're registered you can apply to sell surplus power back to the City through its Cash for Power programme.
- Grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid systems
- Tier-1 monocrystalline panels
- SMA, Victron and GoodWe inverters
- SSEG registration with the City of Cape Town
- App monitoring and after-sales support

UPS Battery Backup
A UPS (uninterruptible power supply) sits between the grid and your equipment. When the power fails, it switches to battery in milliseconds, so computers, routers, alarms and servers don't drop out. We start by listing the circuits that really matter, measure their load, and size the batteries for the backup time you need, whether that's 30 minutes to shut down safely or several hours to keep trading. For offices and data centres we install online UPS units that also clean up voltage spikes and dips. For homes we usually pair an inverter with lithium batteries on a dedicated essentials circuit.
- Switchover in milliseconds
- Protection for servers and IT equipment
- Sized to your critical loads
- Lithium batteries and quality inverters
- Remote monitoring and maintenance

Battery Energy Storage (BESS)
A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) stores electricity so you can use it later. Paired with solar, it moves the power your panels make at midday into the evening, when you actually need it and when tariffs are highest. For businesses on time-of-use tariffs, a BESS can also cut peak demand charges by drawing from the battery instead of the grid during expensive hours. We install lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries from brands like LG, GoodWe and Tesla, integrate them with new or existing solar, and set the inverter up to charge, discharge and hold a backup reserve the way your site needs. Systems scale from a single home battery to multi-cabinet commercial banks.
- Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries
- Works with new or existing solar
- Load-shifting and peak shaving
- Home to commercial scale
- Monitoring and energy management

Generators
Batteries cover hours. A generator covers days. For clinics, farms, factories and sites with heavy motors or long outages, a correctly sized diesel generator is still the most dependable way to guarantee power. We measure your load, including motor start-up currents, and recommend a standby or prime-power unit that won't be overloaded or badly oversized. We install it with an automatic transfer switch (ATS) so it starts and takes over on its own when the grid fails, and we can integrate it with solar and battery systems so the generator only runs when it has to. Service plans keep it ready to start.
- Standby and prime-power generators
- Sized to your real load
- Automatic transfer switch (ATS)
- Installation and commissioning
- Service and maintenance plans

Small-Scale Wind Energy
Solar produces nothing at night and less in a Western Cape winter. On the right site, a small wind turbine fills that gap. Wind only makes sense where the wind is strong and steady, so we start with a site assessment: exposure, obstructions and the local wind resource. If the numbers work, we design a hybrid system where the turbine and solar panels feed the same battery bank, which means fewer dead hours and a smaller battery than solar alone would need. If they don't work, we'll tell you and recommend a system that does.
- Site and wind-resource assessment
- Hybrid solar and wind systems
- Off-grid and remote sites
- Battery storage pairing
- Performance monitoring

Solar Water Heating
In most South African homes the geyser is the biggest single electricity load, often a third or more of the bill. There are two ways to cut it. A solar geyser uses collectors on the roof to heat water directly from the sun, with an electric element as backup on cloudy days. A heat pump works like an air conditioner in reverse and uses a fraction of the electricity of a normal element, day or night. We look at your household size, roof and budget, and recommend the option that pays back fastest. We install new systems or retrofit your existing geyser.
- Solar geyser supply and installation
- Heat pump water heating
- Retrofits to existing geysers
- Long-life equipment
- Fast payback
